One bitterly cold April morning back in 2016 I was trekking through the icy, wooded trails of Scorton Creek in East Sandwich. Kindness was the furthest thing from my mind. This happened to be a transitional time in my life as I had recently left my career at New England Organ Bank – essentially abandoning my identity as a nurse.
