ARE YOU ALMOST READY?

Whacking my way through this book … here’s a sneak peek at a rough excerpt… …there were these things I wanted. It was a constant nagging, aching feeling. I wanted to create something of my own SO badly. I wanted maximum health and happiness. I wanted freedom. Who the hell DOESN’T want that stuff? What I wanted was a beautiful, bold, and juicy life. It was so deep of a desire that I chose this as my brand name. Why? Simply, because life is too short to live any other way. It was at this point when the real, good shit began. The exquisite and juicy work. The  ...

THIS MAN

Yesterday I went to an amazing conference entitled “The Habits of Stress-Resilient People.” It was sponsored by the Institute for Brain Potential and given by psychologist Dr. Dennis Marikis. We covered topics such as resilience, empathy, stress, mindfulness, and vulnerability. I had signed up in order to get some continuing education credits for my nursing license, but what I got in return was priceless.  You know when you get to laugh, cry, be humbled, and inspired you are getting some good shit. And that was only the first six hours of my day! After the conference ended I  ...

WARNING – F bomb ahead

Getting close to finishing the first draft of my book! Giving you a sneak peek of an unedited excerpt. I CHOOSE ME Breakdown to Breakthrough   I didn’t even see it coming. I was having the best time of my life (or so I thought I was). Hell, it was December in Massachusetts, Christmas Day actually, and we were outside enjoying the unseasonably warm and sunny weather. It was 65 degrees and there we stood in flips flops drinking mimosas. Our neighbors congregated in our driveway for an impromptu holiday gathering. The champagne corks flew and oysters were being shucked. Our two  ...

LOOKING AT THIS MAY CHANGE YOUR LIFE

I read Hayley Hengst’s blog post the other day. It really resonated with me. It inspired me. I respect, appreciate, and applaud those who publicly share their experiences. I ask that you do the same. It takes courage to share. I re-read the post. I felt like I was reading about parts of my past self – the tired, grieving person who chose to look at life through a foggy lens. I printed the post out and feverishly started making notes; inspired to share the picture I now choose to see from a new lens. Every stage of life is hard. It’s hard for a baby to learn to crawl.  ...

Yesterday I worked with a woman who has started down her own path to Living Lighter. It was a beautiful experience. We cleared some physical space and in doing so, she began to “try on” vulnerability. This is a woman who was able to share with me that she doesn’t know what to do with the sentimental stuff she has kept. The truth is, most people don’t know what to do with this stuff. I  know I didn’t. This woman was able to take a step into the arena and admit out loud that the box of photos of deceased family members is overwhelming. That when she opens the  ...

Extra-ordinary

Have you ever been so open, so grateful, so content that you just wept like a child? This day, the 14th of July, the day I was brought into this world 36 years ago, has almost come to an end. And I am weeping. Drops of joy and love surrender themselves to gravity, rolling down my cheeks leaving their  damp evidence behind.  My 35th year was a year of breaking down only to breakthrough. I can’t even fathom what my 36th year has in store for me. Today has been more than I could have ever asked for. Some may say it was just an “ordinary day.” I woke up, went to work, came  ...

COMMIT TO THIS 1 THING

What are you committed to? This is one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves. I’m not talking about the day to day commitments of getting the mail, shuttling the kids around, or doing the laundry. I’m talking about YOU. I’m talking about your wants; your desires. You want to eat healthier? You want to be more active? You want to read more? You want to plant a garden? All these things sound nice, right? (I actually want all these things too) I’m going to let you in on a little secret though…I am NOT committed to these things. Sure I try to do  ...

GOT STUFF?

My parents are constantly “trying to clear out stuff.” My dad will be 84 in 11 days and my mom is 75. Talk about years of accumulating and saving stuff “just in case.” Can you imagine what it must have been like to be raised by parents who had lived through The Great Depression? I can’t. But it makes complete sense to me why my mom couldn’t part with 2 empty plastic film cases, 2 empty little cardboard jewelry boxes, 3 decks of cards that have gone unused for years, and other random little “chotskies.”  I tried to convince her to part with  ...

LIVING LIGHTER

It’s the start of a new month! Hello June 🙂 The journey through the past few months has been profound.  I am living larger than I would have ever imagined. I am making conscious choices and filling my life with value. I am experiencing love, gratitude, and spirituality on a whole new level. This my friend, is happiness. Since I’ve decided to show up for this “hot date”, AKA, “life” I am pursuing what I have always wanted, and what I think most everyone wants – FREEDOM. This pursuit of freedom, it’s been a hell of a lot of juicy work. The  ...
