I WANT THIS ONE THING…
A Beautiful, BOLD and Juicy life.
After I broke down and began to break through, I asked myself, “What do I want?” Initially, I spouted off, “I want to be healthier and happier.” Well who doesn’t?!? It was at this point when the real, good s*** began. The exquisite and juicy work. The breakthrough that led to a transformation. As I continued to explore my truths, and give myself permission to do what I truly wanted the possibilities were endless. Let’s pause for a moment here though and explore this idea of giving yourself permission. It’s easy to undermine and breeze by this concept. I’m sure some of you may be saying why would a grown ass woman need to give herself permission to do what she wants?
Who do YOU want to be? What kind of life do YOU want? Perhaps you have never stopped to ask yourself. I know I hadn’t. Here’s the cool thing though. Once you take that first baby step to stop and ask, you’re on your way my friend. You can have what you want. What you deserve! You want to run a 5K? Lose weight? Be more connected with your husband? Get out of debt? It all begins with having the courage and commitment to start. Just like a baby learning to walk, you will fall. You will fall again. And again and again. This is how we learn. But you know what? Life is about the “get to’s.” Not the “how to’s.” You get to pick yourself up and try again. We get so hung up on how we are going to accomplish the things we want most of us never leave the start line. When I was a little girl I would watch the Hawaii Ironman triathlon on TV. I was so inspired to see both the men & women pushing themselves beyond their edge to complete the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile marathon. I told myself I would do this someday. So I did. I signed up for Ironman Florida and had a life altering experience. Hence the motivation to complete 3 more Ironman’s. My point is this though. When I sat down to register myself for my first race I was not thinking, “How am I going to do this?” I was thinking, “I can’t believe I get to do this. This is going to be awesome.” I had no fear. It’s fear that causes us to get stuck. That paralyzes us from creating what we want. So get off the startling line my friends. Dare yourself to keep moving forward.
